Course Overview

This Steet Works certification delivers the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of Signing, Lighting & Guarding.

This course is ideal for those with responsibility for laying out street works and maintaining a safe working environment which protects the general public.

Course outline 

• The New Roads and Street Works Act
• Basic principles of signing, lighting and guarding
• Traffic control measures and when to use them
• Practical use of the Code of Practice
• Portable traffic lights and when to use them
• Practical use of equipment for street works and new roads
• Using Stop and Go, boards

At the end of the course, the candidate will:

• Understand the basic principles of the NRSW Act and standards following CABWI
• Identify and use the correct appropriate traffic control measures
• Erect and dismantle signing, lighting and guarding safely following the Code of Practice
• Correctly and confidently operate the signage, lighting and guarding equipment
