Develop Your Skills. Increase Your Versatility. Work More Safely.
Modern construction sites demand skilled operators who can work safely and efficiently across a range of tasks. A Lifting Operations course gives plant operators the additional knowledge and practical skills required to undertake lifting operations using an excavator within their scope of competence.
At Construction Training Services, our training is designed to help operators develop their capabilities, improve confidence and understand the responsibilities involved when using excavators for lifting operations.
Why Take an Excavator as a Crane Course?
Expand Your Skill Set
Adding lifting operations to your existing excavator skills can make you a more versatile and valuable member of a construction team.
The training helps operators understand the additional requirements involved when an excavator is being used for lifting, rather than simply digging or earthmoving.
Improve Safety During Lifting Operations
Lifting with an excavator requires careful planning, appropriate equipment and a clear understanding of safe working practices.
Our training helps delegates understand key areas such as:
- Safe lifting procedures
- Planning lifting operations
- Understanding lifting capacities and limitations
- Safe working loads
- Selecting and checking lifting accessories
- Correct attachment and positioning of loads
- Communication between operators and other site personnel
- Identifying hazards and potential risks
- Maintaining safe working areas and exclusion zones
- Understanding relevant legislation and site procedures
Increase Operator Confidence
The course provides operators with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and practical ability in a controlled training environment.
This can give operators greater confidence when carrying out lifting operations and recognising situations where additional planning, equipment or support may be required.
Improve Your Employability
Construction companies increasingly value operators who can perform more than one role.
By developing additional lifting-operation skills alongside your excavator experience, you can demonstrate greater versatility and potentially open up further opportunities across construction, groundworks, utilities, civil engineering and other industries.
Support Safer, More Efficient Sites
Competent operators can help businesses carry out lifting operations more effectively while maintaining appropriate safety standards.
Training can also help employers demonstrate their commitment to having suitably trained and competent personnel carrying out plant and lifting-related activities.
Who Is the Course Suitable For?
This course is suitable for experienced excavator operators who are required, or may be required, to carry out lifting operations using an excavator as part of their role.
It can be particularly beneficial for:
- Excavator operators
- Plant operators
- Groundworkers
- Civil engineering workers
